Charlottetown Backpackers Inn
This international hostel is set in a typical Charlottetown home, painted grey with red shutters on a leafy residential street. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the inn is within walking distance of all the downtown attractions. Room options are many: female-only rooms, co-ed dorms, private rooms with TVs—some with en suite bathrooms. A well-equipped kitchen—in true PEI fashion, it comes with free potatoes—is shared by all guests, as is a lounge with computers, TV, and a cozy fireplace. There’s even a recreation room with billiard table and a stack of vintage vinyl records to poke through. Out back, guests enjoy garden or cook on the barbecue.
