Fairholm National Historic Inn
This historic inn is one of several historic buildings that have been converted into hotels under the same ownership. The original 7-room inn was once owned by Thomas H. Haviland, a Father of Confederation, so it’s got some historic cred and has been given a national historic designation. Today it has 33 uniquely decorated suites and rooms spread among the Fairholm, the original home, the Carriage House, Hillhurst Inn and Cranford House. The options range from suites with full-size fridges and stoves, to larger rooms with fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs, curved glass bay windows, and balconies. The room decorating styles also vary from chic and modern, to chic with high-end antiques. The inn is in a more residential part of town so will provide a quiet stay, but is within easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants. A full hot served breakfast is also included. Note: Check-in and breakfast are at the Hillhurst Inn on the compound.
