Hotels in Chatham
Chatham’s lodging choices are more expensive than those of neighboring towns because it’s considered a chichi place to vacation. But for those allergic to fussy, fancy B&Bs and inns, Chatham has several good motel options. Practically across the street from the Chatham Bars Inn, the 26-room Hawthorne, 196 Shore Rd. (tel. 508/945-0372), is a no-frills motel with one of the best locations in town: right on the water, with striking views of Chatham Harbor, Pleasant Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. Rates are $360 for a double, more for an efficiency with kitchenette. It’s closed mid-October to mid-May. The Chatham Seafarer, 2079 Main St. (tel. 800/786-2772 or 508/432-1739), is a lovely, personable, well-run motel with an outdoor pool, only about a half-mile from Ridgevale Beach. Rates are $219 to $229 double.

The location couldn’t be better: 25 acres overlooking a private beach and (just beyond a barrier beach) the Atlantic Ocean. Checking in is a treat, as you traverse the veranda…Around Town - Hotel
Chatham Inn at 359 Main
What’s extra-nice about this newly renovated small inn is there is a wide choice of size of room, and the small fine-dining restaurant on site means you don’t have to compete with the summer crowds in the center of town. It is down on the quiet end of Main Street, a short walk to…$$$Around Town - Hotel
Chatham Wayside Inn
Centrally located, this large hotel is popular with groups because of its size as well as its location. A former stagecoach stop, the inn has a completely modern interior. The rooms are comfortable and decorated in a somewhat generic style, though some have four-poster beds and…$$$Around Town
