This hacienda-style hotel sits outside of town in a 1777 mansion on beautifully landscaped grounds. Converted to a hotel in 1997, it feels like being invited to a very rich friend’s home. Instead of a lobby, there’s a living room—although few guests stay indoors. Each ground-level room has a garden, each second-level room a balcony terrace. Bedrooms are amply sized, and the decor is warm and low-key.
