About 12 miles outside Coos Bay, you'll find Sunset Bay State Park. To make a reservation, contact ReserveAmerica (tel. 800/452-5687; www.reserveamerica.com). Bastendorff Beach County Park (tel. 541/888-5353; www.co.coos.or.us/ccpark/bastendorff), north of Sunset Bay at the mouth of Coos Bay, is an alternative to the frequently full Sunset Bay State Park campground. This park does not take reservations for campsites but does have a few rustic cabins that can be reserved.
