Paco Morales’ lauded restaurant is a 10-minute taxi ride from the Mezquita—and it’s well worth the trip. The restaurant’s design is a modernist Moorish fantasy and so is the dining experience. Three tasting menus with paired wines are available, offering an exquisite interpretation of Andalucía’s culinary heritage. Over nine courses, the Tanwer menu is a perfectly choreographed succession of surprising flavor combinations. Standout dishes—served on arabesque tableware—include white sesame karim with ice-cream, green apple, and desert caviar; grilled seabass with pickled roses and burnt lemon; and pineapple sorbet with buckwheat and sherry vinegar. This is a dream date at one of Spain’s finest restaurants, and reservations are essential, months in advance.
