Flanked by Mount Nephin on one side and the shimmering waters of Lough Conn on the other, Enniscoe is a stunningly restored mid-18th-century mansion. Very little has been significantly altered from the original structure, so the place is overflowing with wonderful period details (one room even has its original silk wallpaper). Bedrooms are spacious with big windows and antique half-tester beds. Bathrooms are modern and elegantly designed. Susan Kellett and her son, DJ, run the place with a natural flair for hospitality. Susan is a great cook too; make sure you book one of her excellent dinners. The grounds are big, and with enough to do that you could spend a day here without ever stepping back into the outside world (see Enniscoe Gardens). The Enniscoe estate also has a couple of self-catering cottages available if you want more privacy.
