Things To Do in Creglingen

Creglingen Attractions

At first glance, Creglingen seems like another pretty, half-timbered backwater, and even if you’re just embarking on a Romantic Road trip, you’ve already seen a few. (Little Röttingen, between Weikersheim and Creglingen, is more of a beauty, even with just a roadside glance at its acres of half-timbering, peaked roofs, and swaths of medieval wall.) But there was a time when pilgrims came to Creglingen from throughout Germany to pay homage at the Herrgottskirche (Chapel of Our Lord). Today’s pilgrims are more likely to be art lovers, flocking here to gaze upon the chapel’s extraordinary altar and other interior decorations. And once you’re here, there are a couple of other quirky museums worth a stop.
