This museum has a compelling story to tell, from its 19th-century mining days to the opening of the ski resort in the 1960s, but the most captivating tale to be told might be the (arguable) invention of mountain biking here when a ragtag crew took single-speed cruisers over Pearl Pass to Aspen in 1976. (Note: The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame moved to California drom the museum in late 2013.)
