The chamber of commerce provides a free brochure on a self-guided walking tour of more than three dozen historic buildings in Crested Butte, including the picturesque 1883 Town Hall, 1881 railroad depot, numerous saloons and homes, and a unique two-story outhouse. Downtown Crested Butte is also home to a half-dozen or so art galleries, mostly along or just off Elk Avenue. The Paragon Galley, at the corner of Second Street and Elk Avenue (tel. 970/349-6484), is a cooperative, displaying the works of more than a dozen local artists and craftspersons.
