Opened in 2009 in a charming and intimate Dutch colonial–style house close to the Avila Hotel, Fishalicious has been getting raves for its deftly prepared, seasonally driven dishes, with an emphasis on fresh local and European seafood. Starters include truffle-cream soup with roasted scallop, a tartare of local tuna, and a pumpkin and pinenut ravioli with shrimp and sage sauce. Fish is the star of the entrees, and recent dishes have included a sesame-seared yellowfin tuna steak, a cod filet drizzled with red onion compote, and a whole Dover sole in butter sauce. A good sampler is the tapas menu, with such delicacies as shrimp croquettes, vegetable pangsit (Indonesian wonton), stir-fried clams with pastis, onions, and curry, and a seafood stew. Good wine selections round out a satisfying dinner.
