The only real downside of this nicely refurbished 18th-century mansion is that it is a bit removed from the heart of the old city. It could be worse, though. It’s on a small square and only about a 10- or 15-min. walk to the plaza. Aside of that, the setup is nearly as good as the pricier colonial-style hotels. There are four beautiful patios, and rooms fall into two categories: colonial-style with stone walls and reproduced furniture or modern and minimalist. They are all spacious and have all of the standard amenities. A lovely deep-red lounge area with a roaring fireplace and gourmet restaurant provide plenty of warmth and comfort on a chilly Andean night.
