If you're at Furama, that's where you'll find the best fine dining, but beachside seafood shacks adjacent to the resort also serve good barbecue for a fraction of resort prices. In Danang proper, choices are few -- mostly small storefront restaurants. Bread of Life (215 Tran Phu St.; tel. 0511/389-3446) is a wonderful new cafe/restaurant serving tasty Western fare such as savory burgers and homemade pies. The owners employ deaf Vietnamese youth, teaching them American Sign Language (quite similar to Vietnamese Sign, both derived from French Sign) and life skills to encourage self-sustainability. Kim Do Restaurant (180 Tran Phu St.; tel. 0511/382-1846) is a Chinese restaurant of long standing, with good stir-fries and steamed Cantonese specials. Bamboo Restaurant (70 Xuan Dieu; tel. 0511/353-7831) is a mellow place for tasty Vietnamese fare and a popular choice among locals. The small storefronts adjacent to the Cham Museum are a good find; they serve tasty duck and rice dishes.
