Restaurants in Datong

The residents of Datong enjoy a good meal out and there's no shortage of restaurants catering to all tastes. The bulk of good Chinese eateries are to be found on Nanmen Jie and Da Bei Jie, but for something cheaper look out for the beef noodle joints around the train station. If you want some Western food then you'll find KFCs just south of the Huayuan Dafandian (alongside a USA California Beef Noodle fast-food restaurant) and another in the main square, Hongqi Guangchang. There's also UBC Coffee on Da Bei Jie. For a Western buffet meal, the Huayuan Dafandian is a good, but expensive option (¥208 per person).
