Getting There
Del Rio is located at the junction of U.S. highways 90 and 277/377, along the U.S.-Mexico border. The Amtrak station is at 100 N. Main St. (tel. 800/872-2745; www.amtrak.com), along the Sunset Limited route.

Fast Facts -- Val Verde Regional Medical Center, 801 Bedell Ave. (tel. 830/775-8566; www.vvrmc.org), has a 24-hour emergency room. The post office, 2001 N. Bedell Ave., is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Saturday from 9 to 11am.
