This popular B&B at the top of the hill overlooking Derry has few frills but is a handy, well-priced option. Rooms are small but neat, with modern decor; most have lovely town views. Bathrooms are tiny but clean. Most rooms have ensuite facilities, but a few have bathrooms a short distance away; if this matters to you, ask when you book. Breakfasts are of the carb-heavy, eggs-and-bacon variety, although fresh scones and pancakes are sometimes on offer. The old city is a pleasant 10-minute walk downhill—which means a pretty steep 10-minute walk uphill when you’re coming home later. But taxis are plentiful in Derry if you can’t face the climb. The same owners also have a second B&B, Angel House (020/3564-5165), located on Marlborough Street in the city center.
