Brier Island Lodge
With dated furnishings, no TVs, and few creature comforts, this lodge resembles a kids’ summer camp. But who cares? Guests come here to be surrounded by spectacular nature, and for the lodge’s expertly-run whale- and/or bird-watching tours. Saving grace: The Grandview on Brier on site is the only licensed sit-down restaurant within a 90-minute radius; the menu offerings are solid, from fresh regional seafood and hand-picked veggies from the greenhouse and gardens, to locally sourced meats and cheeses. You can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner here while gazing through soaring glass windows to the Grand Passage 40m (131 ft.) below. Hiking trails connect the lodge with the Fundy Shoreline.
