Things To Do in Dinard
Dinard Shopping
For shops and boutiques, concentrate on rue du Maréchal-Leclerc, rue Levavasseur, and boulevard Féart. You’ll find unique gift items at Esperluette, 45 rue Maréchal Leclerc (https://esperluettedinard.fr; tel. 09-52-36-21-09), a boutique and gallery featuring eco-responsible art, homeware and jewelry. Stop in at Ma Kibell, 53 rue Levavasseur (https://makibell.com; tel. 09-54-37-18-56) for locally-made cosmetics, soaps and creams using all-natural ingredients.
Dinard Nightlife
Like many French beach resorts, Dinard has a casino. Le Casino Barrière, 4 bd. Du Président-Wilson (www.casinosbarriere.com/fr/dinard.html; tel. 02-99-16-30-30) is liveliest from Easter to late October with games including roulette, blackjack, and slot machines and a bar and restaurant in-house. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 10am to 2am, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 3am. Admission is free though you must present your passport; dress code is smart casual. An alternative is La Suite, 2 rue la Ville Biais, off of route du Barrage (www.facebook.com/lasuitedinard; tel. 02-99-46-46-46), a nightclub and dance club on the outskirts with a loyal following thanks to a good wine selection and amiable ambience. It’s open Thursdays through Saturdays, with varying cover charges and free shuttle-bus service to Dinard and St-Malo. According to its club rules, “Homosexuality is not a problem—but homophobia is.”
In the evenings from June to September, tourists stroll the Promenade du Clair de Lune to admire specially illuminated buildings and gardens and to enjoy open air concerts and film screenings.
