The simple rooms in this no-frills beachfront hotel are well maintained and a good value. The owner Mike McGigginis is an old-school surfer and pioneer in these parts. The best rooms are the second-floor units with private bathrooms, but you can also opt for dorm rooms with bunk beds and shared baths and access to a communal kitchen. The small Surf Shak restaurant attached to the hotel serves up breakfasts and lunch, as well as the sister San Clemente Restaurant, just a short walk away in the center of town.
