Generally, Dover accommodations are moderately priced -- but don't go looking for hotel rooms for NASCAR weekends. Believe it or not, most rooms are booked before racing fans even get a chance to call. Look for lodging about an hour away: at the beach resorts, Wilmington, or on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Local hotels also tend to book up on summer weekends. Most of Dover's hotels are on Route 13 (DuPont Hwy.); these are largely modern chains with ample free parking.
