Aguila de Osa Inn

Set on a steep hillside that borders the Agujitas River right near the point where it empties out into Drake Bay, this is an expertly operated jungle lodge, with much of the credit going to founder Bradd Johnson. This is one of the only high-end lodges in the area without a swimming pool and the rooms are a bit of an uphill hike from the main lodge, but the rooms are airy and comfortable; the service is attentive; and the food is downright fabulous, much of it grown on the property. The lodge has especially good scuba diving and sportfishing operations, with its own modern boats, top-notch equipment, and knowledgeable skippers and divemasters.
