Movie Magic -- The badlands in particular have provided the backdrop for plenty of Hollywood movies over the years, from the ghost town of Rowley in the Canadian production Bye Bye Blues to the Oscar-winning Clint Eastwood film Unforgiven. Canadian auteur Atom Egoyan filmed large portions of his film Ararat nearby, using the badlands to double for the Armenian landscape. All is not so serious, though; Jackie Chan's comic romp through the west, Shanghai Noon, was shot here, as was the Seth Green comedy Knockaround Guys.
