The concept of this wonderful evening is timeless, yet brilliant in its simplicity. No high tech smoke and mirrors, just compelling tales from Irish folklore, passionately told by masters of the storytelling craft. To be clear, this is storytelling for all ages, not just children, and it’s a brilliant revival of an ancient art. The whole thing takes place in an atmospherically lit room inside the Brazen Head pub, one of the oldest pubs in Dublin. During dinner, the storytellers spin their absorbing yarns. The meal, which is included in the price, is suitably traditional as well: beef-and-Guinness stew or bacon and cabbage with mashed potatoes. If you haven’t had your fill of Irish tradition by the end of it all, you can go downstairs and hear some live music in the bar.
