This slick sushi bar successfully combines both Dalmatian and Japanese influences. From a design standpoint, the old building with exposed stone walls is classic Dalmatian, but the furniture, in minimalist style with clean lines, feels more Japanese. All the seafood is locally sourced, and oysters are served raw with a slice of lemon, in Dalmatian style. The wines are also predominantly Dalmatian, except for the champagne. The menu covers delights such as freshly made shrimp tempura, salmon sashimi, and tuna tartar. (The first Bota Śare restaurant was founded in nearby Ston—the family that owns the group still farms their own shellfish there, and are renowned for their exquisite fresh oysters.) The restaurant is in a narrow alley close to the cathedral. No credit cards are accepted.
