Space 220

New for 2021: A fun place where the gimmick is you’re dining (and wining—the list is more than 1,000 bottles long) 220 miles above the ground aboard a space station. Upon arrival, you "ride" an elevator to space. It’s a lot like the Coral Reef Restaurant, but in a vacuum: A 250-foot-long digital screen wrapping outside a semicircle of windows completes the illusion. It’s run by the Patina Group, which also manages the restaurants at the Italy pavilion as well as The Edison, Enzo’s, and Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs.

Although the gimmick is fun and what's there is well done, we can't shake the feeling that there have been more. The view of Earth through the windows never moves—so the same few tables get the best view while tables that are off to the sides only see intermittent animated spaceships or astronauts. The food, too, is a firm C+ and not worth the price; we didnt find our cut of meat to be high-quality and we found the cocktails far too sweet (but that's Orlando).

It's hard to find an advance reservation. You almost never see it pop up on the Disney app. But once you're inside Epcot, if you go to the queue area beside Mission: SPACE at around 10:30 or 11am, you'll find two walk-up waiting lists—one for the restaurant and one for the "lounge," which is the bar area (serving small bites) at the back of the main dining room.

Main courses $24 to $35. Some meals are set-price (for example, $55 for a two-course lunch). Sit-down only.
