Before you get down and dirty at some dark pits and mines, head first to the Stora Torget, the market square, to see the Kristine Church (tel. 023/279-10), a copper-roofed structure dating from the mid-17th century (the tower itself dates from 1865). It's open daily 10am to 4pm, and admission is free. It closes at 6pm in summer.
