Planning a trip to Figueres

By train, the quickest way to Figueres from Barcelona is the high-speed AVE or Avant (tel. 90-232-03-20) from Barcelona-Sants station to Figueres-Vilafant station. The trip takes less than an hour, but note the station is about 2km (1.25 mi.) outside the city. A slower regional train runs roughly every 30 minutes to the city center, taking 1hr 45 minutes, and costs around 12€. From Girona, hourly regional trains take around 30 minutes and cost 7€–9€. High-speed trains to Figueres-Vilafant take just 15 minutes and cost 5€ to 10€.

By car, take the E15/AP-7 from Barcelona or Girona.

The Figueres tourist office is at the Plaça de l’Escorxador, 2 (tel. 97-250-31-55). The office is open Monday to Saturday 9:30am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm.
