Not many hotels give you the chance to live like a Florentine noble on a sensible budget. Rooms here have towering ceilings and an uncluttered arrangement of antique furniture—each piece carefully chosen—and most have frescoed or painted-wood showpiece ceilings. Bathrooms, in contrast, are modern and decked out in travertine and marble. Aside from two street-facing suites, every room has a small balcony, ideal for a pre-dinner glass of wine. If you’re here for a once-in-a-lifetime trip, spring a little extra for “Giove” or (especially) “Cerere”; both are large suites, and the latter has walls covered in original frescoes from the 1800s.
