Camping -- There are several full-service campgrounds in the Fort Collins area. The Fort Collins Poudre Canyon Kampground of America (KOA) is about 10 miles northwest of downtown at U.S. 287 and Colo. 14 (tel. 800/562-2648 for reservations, or 970/493-9758; www.koa.com), open May through September, with rates of $27 to $30 for tents and $30 to $40 for RVs. A second KOA, open year-round, is just off I-25 exit 281, north of Fort Collins at Wellington (tel. 800/562-8142 for reservations, or 970/568-7486; www.fortcollinsnorthkoa.com), with rates of $32 to $37 for RV sites and $27 to $30 for tents per site. Campers looking for a lakeside RV resort might consider the third KOA, Fort Collins Lakeside KOA, northwest of Fort Collins at 1910 N. Taft Rd. (tel. 877/254-4063 or 970/484-9880; www.fclakesidecg.com), which is open year-round and has rates of $40 to $72 for RV sites and $32 to $24 for tent sites. Cabins and lodge rooms run about $60 to $130.
