A L'Olivier de Provence

You will find yourself transported straight to the heart of Provence in this charming, rustic restaurant, which has been serving French haute cuisine in the village-like suburb of Carouge for over 60 years. Sublime quality, artful culinary creations, and impeccable service means the restaurant is eternally popular, so we advise booking in advance. Chef Gaetan Thiron's imaginative seasonal menus boast all the bold, colorful flavours of Provence, while offering a new twist on old favorites. We especially liked the vol au vent of frogs' legs as a starter, followed by seabass baked in a crust of salt, with tomatoes and shallots, and artisanal ice-creams and tangy sorbets to end our meal. An adjoining bistro appeals to those with tighter purse strings, with equally delicious cooking but a simpler, more affordable menu, in an altogether more rustic setting (think exposed brickwork, wooden beams and terracotta tiled floors) and there’s also a shaded terrace for al fresco dining in summer.
