Crêperie St-Pierre
Crêperie St-Pierre, in the heart of Old Town, is the perfect place to tuck into authentic Breton crêpes, washed down the traditional way with cider, or with wine by the glass. This cozy but simple, no-frills café crammed full of tiny tables serves an impressive choice of tasty, affordable pancakes (both sweet and savory) plus copious salads, on an historic square beside the cathedral. The food is simple, without garnish, but nourishing and good value for money/location. We really like the crêpe sarrasin (made with buckwheat) laden with juicy strips of steak and onion, followed by a sweet pancake with sugar, cinnamon and butter—simple but delicious! Warning: only order a second pancake if you're seriously hungry! In summer, the cobbled pavement terrace is an especially pleasant spot for lunch, in a sunny pedestrianized corner right beside the cathedral. However, the clientele here consists primarily of tourists (plus an occasional smattering of regular locals), and service can be slow and quality variable, especially during high season.
