La Perle du Lac
As its name suggests, La Perle du Lac is indeed an absolute gem on the banks of Lake Geneva—a tiny, luxuriant pavilion located in the shady Mon-Repos Park. This first-rate restaurant has been serving classic French cuisine and flavorful fish dishes— standouts include the gilthead bream and oyster tartare with passion fruit and the char with leeks and a truffle vinaigrette—and a top-notch list of Swiss wines, all served (since 1930) with exemplary refinement to the well-heeled of Geneva and the local business community. The interior comprises a series of elegant, candlelit dining rooms, but the restaurant really comes into its own in summer months, thanks to an extensive open-air terrace that overlooks the beautiful gardens flanking the lake. Reservations are strongly recommended.
