Thomas Cafe

There’s been a restaurant here since 1929, and this 1950s-style diner, replete with cozy wooden booths, black-and-white checkered floor, and a long counter with stools, is a popular local spot for breakfast and light lunches. Stick with classics such as the fried green tomatoes, Southern-fried flounder, fried chicken, and rice and gravy. It also knocks out great sandwiches—try the Philly cheese steak. Most dishes are less than $10 and an excellent deal.
