Massana

The à la carte menu at Pere Massana and Ana Roger’s elegant restaurant near Parc de la Devesa includes plenty of seafood, and everything is presented with an artful precision, but it’s clear where Massana’s culinary heart lies. The multi-course Gourmet menu harks back to the wood-fired grill of the family restaurant in the Penedès wine region where Pere grew up, with a succession of gamey dishes and foraged ingredients. Quail, hare, and duck all feature, alongside mushrooms, truffles, rosemary, and pine nuts. Unsurprisingly, the wine pairing is excellent, showcasing mainly Catalan wines with one or two interesting twists like an IPA beer and a mango daiquiri.
