The construction for this temple began in 1983 and didn't finish until 1995. While the structures aren't architectural wonders, the draw is the hundreds of thousands of statues of the Buddha and bodhisattvas that are here. A giant bronze Buddha sits on a lotus base and is quite impressive at 12m (39 ft.) tall. There are 1,000 bodhisattva statues creating several semicircles around him. Behind them are 333,333 small Buddha statues, which are backlit at night.

If you think the bronze statue is impressive, keep going down the hill and you'll see a taller copper Buddha statue (this one is standing) and, just a bit farther around, an even taller Jijang Bosal surrounded by many attendant figures.
