Bar Los Diamantes
Frying fish for granadinos since 1942, Los Diamantes now has several bars across town. The original on Calle Navas is fabulous but hectic. As reservations aren’t possible, the larger branch on Plaza Nueva may be more practical. If you want a full meal, ask for a table. If you prefer tapas to share, grab a stool or stand at the bar. Order, say, a plate of mixed fried fish (surtido de pescado) and a beer, and you might get a free starter of a plate of clams. Once you’ve polished off the fresh battered fish, you might get a free finisher of garlic mushrooms. Portions are large, so a half-size media racion should suffice.
