Campgrounds -- Along the Rogue River east of Grants Pass, you'll find the very busy Valley of the Rogue State Park (tel. 541/582-1118; www.oregon.gov/oprd/parks) just off I-5 near the town of Rogue River. West of Grants Pass, there are several county-operated campgrounds, of which Indian Mary Park, near Galice on Merlin-Galice Road in the Hellgate Canyon area, is the nicest. Near Indian Mary Park, you'll also find Almeda Park, which is close to the Grave Creek trail head of the Rogue River Trail.
