The owner of Edna came by her passion for food honestly: her mother owned the now closed, but beloved, Janes on the Commons for many years. Daughter Jenna has carved out her own space in the restaurant landscape of Halifax with this chic bistro. The food is uniformly fresh and creative with a menu that changes daily and reflects the season. On a recent visit, we enjoyed both the savory mushroom ricotta tart and the seared scallops with pancetta and saffron risotto. EDNA is also a go-to destination for fabulous weekend brunches. Reservations are limited and they don’t accept them at all for brunch, so expect to wait if you arrive at peak times.
