The Tourism Hamilton Information Centre is at 34 James St. S., Hamilton (tel. 800/263-8590 or 905/546-2666; It has a wealth of information about what to see and do, as well as where to dine and sleep. Its year-round hours run Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Getting There

Hamilton is easy to reach by car. From Toronto, take the Queen Elizabeth Way (signs read QEW) to Hamilton. The drive is about an hour.

GO (Government of Ontario) Transit is a commuter train that connects Toronto and Hamilton. Call tel. 800/438-6646 or 416/869-3200 for information, or check out The John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (tel. 905/679-1999; has long been popular with cargo carriers and is now a hub for WestJet. In 2007, flyglobespan began service to Hamilton, connecting the city to 13 U.K. destinations (visit for details).
