Jarrero

With its wood-beamed ceiling, impressive murals and solid stone walls, this busy, buzzy place is right at home in the atmospheric streets of Haro’s old center. ‘Jarrero’ is the name for a Haro inhabitant. The daily lunch menu offers ten starters and half-a-dozen mains, plus a few specials at an extra charge. Wine and bread are included - a real bargain. Riojan standard dishes are prominent, and there’s also a full a la carte if you need it, featuring Galician octopus, smoked tuna and suckling lamb. The cooking is not fancy, but it is very authentic. You will leave content, your appetite surely sated.   Reservations recommended in summer.
