Hotels in Husavik

For those who don't like changing accommodations every night, Húsavik can be a base for exploring Jökulsárgljúfur National Park and the Mývatn area. Húsavík's tourist information office can assist in finding vacancies.

The Aðaldalur Valley between Akureyri, Húsavík, and Mývatn is often overlooked, but also makes for good operational headquarters. The nicest hotel in Aðaldalur is Hótel Rauðaskriða (Rte. 85, around 18km/11 miles from Rte. 1; tel. 464-3504; www.hotelraudaskrida.is; 17,400kr/$278/£139 double including breakfast), with a restaurant, a bar, and hot tubs.
