Chinatown
Incheon's Chinatown was established by Chinese immigrants in 1884, a year after the harbor was opened, and today, it is home to more than 500 immigrants. Although small, Chinatown has some well-preserved historical buildings, like the Cultural Center of Jung-gu (originally built in 1901), the Annex Building of Tourist Development (the former Japanese Jeil Bank, built in 1884), and the Jung-gu Restaurant Business Union (originally the Japan 58 Bank, built in 1892). The birthplace of jjajangmyeon (a Chinese-Korean noodle dish with black-bean sauce, caramelized vegetables, and meat), Chinatown also offers traditional Chinese cuisine in Jageum-seong, Junghwa-ru, and Jinheung-gak.
