Set in one of four side-by-side pre-1800s buildings, this fish and fishing industry–centric museum near Ísafjörður’s southern tip is one of the town’s most visited attractions. There’s an informative primer on Westfjords regional history with scannable displays, plus an engaging documentary on open rowboat fishing that is screened continuously, with English subtitles. Film screenings and other events are held from mid-June to mid-August on Monday and Thursday evenings; call or check with tourist information for schedules.
