There are plenty of places to sleep in Muju, most notably the Muju Resort Family Hotel or the more modest and economical Gukmin Hotel, owned by the same company and both at San 43-15 Simgok-li, Seolcheon-myeon, Muju-gun, Jeonbuk (tel. 063/320-7000; fax 063/320-7055; www.mujuresort.com). As at most resorts in South Korea, the rooms will be a little overpriced, especially during high season.

In Gunsan, there are two first-class tourist hotels, the Gunsan Tourist Hotel (tel. 063/443-0811, 462-1 Gyeongjang-dong, Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do), located near the bus station, and the more upscale Ritz Plaza Hotel (tel. 063/1588-4681, 1195-49 Beonji, Namun-dong, Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do).

Although Iksan's tourist industry has not begun to bloom, the most upscale accommodation in the city is the Grand Plaza Tourist Hotel (tel. 063/843-7777 or 843-1714, 329-2 Pyeonghwa-dong, Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do). Other lower-price options can be found in the same area, around the Iksan Express Bus Terminal and the train station.

There are a few motels in Gochang and an economical choice is Cheong Green Park Motel (tel. 063/561-3161 or 011/9627-6072, 512-12 Chiryong-li, Heungdeok-myeon, Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do), a love motel with doubles starting at W30,000.
