One of the best value deals in town, this is a pleasant, well-run hotel with modern facilities, located on a quiet street just inside Jaffa Gate. Public areas are spacious, with touches of local color in the decor; the breakfast buffet/dining area offers views of the Tower of David and of West Jerusalem. Many guest rooms were renovated in 2013 and all offer good heating and air-conditioning, quality beds, and bathroom facilities—items that can be hard to find inside the Old City. Some are located in the 22-room annex across the street from the main building. The staff here is especially impressive, a cheery, helpful group of people who are extremely knowledgeable about Jerusalem, and—wonder of wonders!—can often set up free parking for guests. The downside? A long staircase up to the lobby (from which there is an elevator to higher floors) could be a consideration for those with mobility issues.
