Near the sixth Station of the Cross in the Old City, this shop, run by the renowned Karakashian family, is notable for individual plates and tiles decorated with lovely traditional bird, animal, and floral designs, as well as for its interpretations of ancient Jewish and Christian motifs. Standards of craftsmanship are the highest, with the careful hand painting (tile designs are incised) and vibrant colors. There’s also a selection of plates, cups, and even ceramic mezuzah cases for doorposts.
