Azur

Owners Michael Mosi and Drew Wenzel are Key West fine-dining-scene veterans, and here on a quiet stretch several blocks off Duval Street they take their cues not just from Mosi’s Italian heritage but mix and match from across the Mediterranean—especially Spain, Greece, France (whence of course comes the restaurant’s name)—and North Africa. Flavors are bright and the touch is light on specialties such as several tasty varieties of gnocchi; braised lamb ribs over Moroccan-spiced chickpeas with feta and tzatziki; and lavender crème brûlée. And if you can get over here for weekday breakfast ('til 11am) or Sunday brunch, you’ve gotta try the French toast layered with Key lime pie and topped with berry compote (fair warning: This sugar baby is yummy but super-sweet, so bring your glucometer). I recommend sitting out on the shrubbery-screened sidewalk patio out front.
