Deir al Kashef
On the cliffs north of Bagawat looms the ruins of an old building named for the Mamluke governor Mostafa al Kashef (which literally means "Mostafa the tax collector"). It is very much a ruin, but the remains of a 5th-century church can still be identified inside it, and there are some inscriptions there that are fast being eroded out of sight.
