Public Kitchen and Bar
The decor at this sliver of a tapas bar is wanting: white walls, a blackboard with the specials, and an L-shaped DIY pine bar that takes up half the width of the room. But people don’t come here for the ambience. All focus is on the delights being sent out from the kitchen. The menu is in constant flux, save for one dish: potato rosti topped with cold smoked salmon. Locals would rebel if those two-bite morsels were ever nixed. The savory nosh is complemented by an excellent (and refreshing) drink list: new- and old-world wines, craft cocktails, and obscure Ontario craft beers, all at reasonable prices.
