In the foothills of Mt. Dikios, on the ridge in Zia, this historic taverna (built in 1902) affords views of Zia’s renowned sunsets from either a roof garden or a balcony. There are few more pleasant places to dine on Kos than in the bougainvillea covered outdoor courtyard. If you’re lucky, you may be treated to the cinnamon-flavored drink Mama makes (this is a proudly family owned eatery). Other specialties include soutzoukakia (meatballs) and a rustic, hearty lamb stew.
